James “Jim” Madison Howard, passed away on May 8, 2019 in his home at the age of 88. Jim was born July 26, 1930 in Morton, Mississippi to Harvey and Annabell (Webb) Howard, and grew up in Bremerton, Washington where Jim spent his time as a young child exploring the outdoors.
Jim grew up to graduate high school and join the United States Airforce, where he spent 3.5 years stationed in Alaska during the Korean War. In 1959, he and Vera L Green were married, and began their journey through this life together hand in hand, and were blessed with a son, Mark Howard.
Jim retired to Chandler, Arizona in 1977 after owning and operating Pine Shadows RV Park in Show Low, Arizona.
Jim is preceded in death by his mother and father, Harvey and Ann Howard; uncle, JB Webb; sister, Vera Roff and brother, John Howard.
Jim is held in the hearts of those he is survived by: his wife of 60 years, Vera L Howard (Chandler, Arizona); son, Mark Howard (Chandler, Arizona); niece, Lisa Boylan (Sacramento, California); sister, Shelly Howard (John), nieces and nephew Jennifer, Jeremy, and Tracy.
Jim will be honored at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 E Main St, Mesa, Arizona 85207. A visitation will be held Monday, May 13, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Brian Berger. A graveside service will immediately follow.
After services, the family invites everyone to join them in fellowship and reception from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Redemption Church Gilbert, 1820 W Elliot Rd, Gilbert, Arizona 85233.
