James (Jim) Ronald Jones Sr., 86, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away at 10:27pm on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on February 25, 1936, in Huntsville, Illinois to Harold and Annice Jones.  Jim was one of ten children, the second eldest child among six boys and four girls.  On July 12, 1979, Jim married Victoria (Vicky) de Guzman in Quincy, Illinois, and later moved to Mesa, Arizona, where they shared almost 43 amazing years together.  Jim and Vicky had four children all of Mesa, Arizona, Maria (Philip) Tabla, Jamie Lou (Frank) Milligan, Joshua James Jones, and John Paul Harold (Shannon) Jones; six grandchildren, Kayla Ann Tabla, Isabella Lynn Tabla, Jacob Mario Tabla, Olivia Joy Tabla, Wesley Daniel Jones, Eliza Linda Jones; and one great-granddaughter, Mila Jane Gernand.

In addition to those children, Jim had five other children that survive him, Dorothy Jones of Quincy, IL, Lill Lu Ella “Lukie” Harvey (Steve) of Quincy, IL, Gay Davis (Bill) of Quincy, IL, James Jones Jr. (Becki) of Quincy, IL, and Angie Robertson (Richard) of Blanchester, OH; plus 11 more grandchildren, Jeremy Harvey (Melanie), Justin Harvey (Hayley), Tim Davis (Brenda), Tony Davis, Lyndsey Phillips (John), Austen Jones, James Jones III, Merinda Jones, Dessa Robertson, Shelby Robertson, and Noelle Robertson; and soon to be 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, Jim is survived by two brothers, Don Jones, and Walt Jones; and three sisters, Ruthie Bailey, Jan Brown, and Sandy Jones.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Mike Jones, Gary Jones, and Butch Jones; and one sister, Dolly Jones.

Jim was the kindest and friendliest man you would ever run into; always talking with strangers and bragging about his 9 children, 17 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren, or how his wife was a Filipina and retired RN!  Jim lived for his family and loved to talk about them, as well as the Phoenix Suns basketball team, never missing a game!  Jim enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching Western movies (especially John Wayne), old antique cars, camping, and watching Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune.

We miss you, Dad/Papa, and will always love you!!

Viewing services will be held on Wednesday, July 6th at 4-8pm, at the Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85207.
