Our father, James V Young, passed away on October 8, 2022 with his
loved ones by his side. James was 91.
James was born in 1931 to his parents, Lyle & Alice (Richard) Young.
Growing up, James had a wonderful childhood with his two brothers and
one sister. This would go on to shape his life as an adult and would inspire
him to be a dedicated and loving father.
After meeting the love of his life, Evelyn Raikes, in 1955 at Yellowstone
Park the pair went on to eventually marry and have three daughters.
They made their home in Tempe, AZ. His family was defined by love and
generosity. James loved his family and loved life. Anytime you would see
him, he would always have a beautiful smile on his face. He was just full of
fun & laughter.
James absolutely loved his career at Salt River Project as a Crane
Operator for more than 34 years. He was a hard worker who did all he
could to provide for his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, liked to go
camping and fishing.
James is survived by daughters Debbie (Leonard) James, Karen (Jim)
Donohoe, grandchildren Nick (Kristen) James, Chris (Candise) James,
Mike (Jaclyn) Donohoe, Tom (Holly) Donohoe, Amy James, Sandy James,
Tina James, and many great grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents Lyle & Alice (Richard) Young,
brothers, Richard Young and Maynard (Babe) Young, sister, Inace
Spannring, his wife Evelyn Young, daughter Laura Young, Son in Law
Bob James & Grandson Billy James.
We mourn the loss of our father and encourage any and all who knew him
to remember the beauty he brought to this world. For any interested,
