Janice Marie Rohan, 86, of Mesa, Arizona, went home to be with the Lord on October 5, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s with her loving husband by her side. She was born on January 31, 1939, in Melvin, Iowa, to George and Jeanette (Mastbergen) Rubsam. Janice married John Rohan, Jr. on April 4, 1959, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Newcastle, Nebraska.
A graduate of Lawson High School in Lawton, Iowa, Janice continued he education at Edwards Business College and spent much of her career working in banking.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, John; her daughters Pamela (Mike) McNamara of Gold Canyon, AZ Anita Geib of Raleigh, NC, daughter-in-law Sonja Rohan of Hartford, SD; eleven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. Janice was preceded in death by her cherished son, David John Rohan, as well as her brother Kenneth Rubsam and her parents, George and Jeanette Rubsam.
Following retirement, Janice filled her days volunteering, participating in philanthropic efforts, Red Hats, book clubs, bible study and Welcome Wagon, along with hosting Super Bowl parties. She loved taking walks, hiking and tent camping.
Janice will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering faith, and the happiness she brought to those she met. Her enduring love and dedication will be cherished by her gamily and all who were blessed to know her.
She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Newcastle, NE. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
