Jean M. (Jarvis) Holmes, 83, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 17th, 2022 in Mesa, Arizona. She was born December 31st, 1938 to the late Cecil and Nell (Arnold) Jarvis.

Jean moved to Mesa, Arizona in her late teenage years after spending her younger years in West Virginia. While her main focus was as a homemaker, she was employed at Sun Valley Mobile Homes when her boys grew older. She also worked at Granny’s Chocolate Creations, where her employment helped her to create many of the delicious treats she loved making for her family and friends. She loved playing cards with her friends and family. She enjoyed solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She was a fan of listening to country music, especially when her late husband Ken would play steel guitar with friends. Over the years, she took pride in caring for her dogs.

In addition to her parents and her loving husband Kenneth Holmes, Jean was preceded in death by sisters Helen Burns, Betty Smith, Nelma Stump, Bernice Cornn, Hope Schoolcraft, Connie Rucker, Kathy Jarvis, brothers Donald Jarvis and Bernard Jarvis, and granddaughter Candy. She leaves behind sons Clifton “Skip” (Tammy), Tim Holmes, and Rod (Theresa) Holmes and sisters Alice Conley and Donnie King. She was Nonny to 10 grandchildren, Rod, Matt, Kenny, Sunny, Timmy, Erin, Clifton, Chanda and Melissa as well as 22 great-grandchildren.

Her family grieves her loss, but they take comfort knowing that Ken and Jean are togetheragain. Jean’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7th, beginning at 11 AM at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ, 85207.
