Jeanne Elizabeth Rogers (Kindt), loving wife to Thomas William Rogers, passed away on March 30 at her home in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on April 19, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio, one week apart from her husband, Thomas. Childhood friends, Jeanne and Thomas dated in their teens, married, and started a family. Jeanne was an active mom raising six children – Brian, Dennis, Leslie, Pam (Paul Bosch), Sean (Danielle Jensen) and Christopher – making a welcoming home and hosting countless dinners and parties with family, friends, neighbors and clubs.

When life presented the challenge of a chronically sick child, Jeanne and Thomas rose to the occasion, caring lovingly for their son Dennis until his untimely death at eight years old. Her support for her family’s wide interests never tired – making delicious meals and baked goods, crafting costumes, attending sporting events and even making a trip to the famed CBGB nightclub to watch her sons perform. She had a lifelong love for animals and, along with Thomas, raised several hunting and show dogs – many becoming loving family pets.

Along with Thomas, Jeanne enjoyed countless adventures across the globe, traveling together to Ireland, United Kingdom, Europe, Mexico, Turkey and all over the United States. She worked tirelessly to make comfortable family homes in Cincinnati, Holland (MI), Randolph (NJ), Joliet (IL) and finally Phoenix. Jeanne provided unwavering support to Thomas as he embarked on his career as a salesman, entrepreneur and leader. Later in life, she volunteered at Our Lady of Guadalupe in the Phoenix region, teaching CCD classes and making costumes for the parish’s annual Christmas pageant.

Jeanne was the daughter of Barbara (Mayer) and James; sister to Joan (Thomas), Thomas (Kindt) and Judy (Naugle); sister-in-law to Timothy (Bloss), Terry (Carol), Ted (Donna), Peggy Gruen (Dave), Daniel, Kevin (Barb) and Kathy Owens (Mike).

She is preceded in death by her sons, Dennis and Brian, and her granddaughter, Lynn (Laule). She is survived by her husband, Thomas; four children – Leslie, Pam (Paul), Sean (Danielle) and Christopher; sixteen grandchildren – Keith, Barbara-Jean (Adam), Tori (Ryan), Liam Bosch (Ariane), Graham Bosch (Sabrina), Grace, Sophie, Joselyn, Declan, Evan and Jude; and seven great-grandchildren – Emma, Jonathan, Jacob, Lilly, Mia, Delilah and Madelin.

The Rogers family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley and KindCare Home Health Aides, who along with her family, cared lovingly for Jeanne at home through the end of her life.

May Jeanne’s gentle caring nature, unconditional loving spirit and overwhelming generosity continue to inspire and comfort everyone she touched in this world.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024, at St. Benedict, 16223 S. 48th St., Phoenix, AZ. 85048.
