“Joe”, born in the rural hills of Chicora, Pa.,in the backseat of a 49’ Plymouth., to Mary Lou (Corbett) & Marshall Johns. His siblings whom proceeded him in death are Henry Johns,
Barbara Jean Cochran, and Angela Baker, all formerly of Austintown, Oh., he leaves a half brother Donald Jeffery Crissman of South Carolina.

Moving to Austintown in the mid 60’s, he later met his best friend, soul mate & bride of 51 years, Renae Sue (Galla). Whom he leaves to cherish infinite memories. Together they shared a love for the ages, creating an amazing family including 5 children, the oldest son, Joseph D. Johns Jr. departed this world in Oct. 2008, of North Jackson, Oh. Twin sons, Jason (Julie) Johns of Jacksonville,Fla., James (Aya Jane)Johns of Riverside Ca., daughter Rochelle (Randy) Tharp of Austintown, Oh., and son Jeremy “Smig”(Amy), of Mesa, AZ.

10 Grandchildren, Adam Johns, Alyssa Johns, Quentin Johns, Kaitlyn Mason, Aaron Johns, Austin Ladd, Braden Johns, Joseph Johns III, Emi Johns, Jayden Johns. As well as 9 Great grandchildren.

Joe lived life to the fullest and knew how to have a great time doing it. He was undoubtedly the epitome of strength and perseverance, recently celebrating his 8th anniversary as a double lung transplant recipient. He taught his family the value of days and moments, as they become memories. Making the most of the “dash” between 1953-2024. He will be dearly missed my several nieces and nephews and friends alike.

Services are Wednesday July 3 at 10am. At mountain view funeral home Mesa, AZ. Lunch to follow at his home.
