On Sunday, December 8, 2019, Joseph George Allessi Sr., loving husband, father, brother, and friend, was called by our Lord at the age of 85 years. Joseph was born in Oak Park, Illinois. He graduated from Proviso High School in 1952. Joseph worked many jobs, starting at a young age, from paper routes to working in a machine shop, before starting his career with Commonwealth Edison Power Company. He retired as a Crew Leader and Lineman Specialist after 35 years of service, where he made many life-long friendships. Joseph and his wife, Susan, moved to their Lake Wisconsin home where they lived for over 20 years and enjoyed fishing, boating, and family. Joseph was very active in the Catholic Church of St. Mary’s. He also loved building things and “tinkering”. He restored a couple of collector cars and also loved building and flying remote control airplanes. Joseph was also a history buff and his mind was like a library. Joseph lived in Mesa, Arizona for the last 7 years of his life.
He was greeted in death by his parents, George and Sylvia (Casserilla) Allessi; daughter, Annette Schuett; brother, Charles; and brother-in-law, Roy Hill.
He lives on in the hearts of his beloved wife of over 40 years, Susan (Honeycutt) Allessi, their love for each other is everlasting; his children Georgette (Richard) Roberge, Joseph (Suzanne) Allessi, Nicholette (Jim) Haubner, Michael (Laura) Allessi, William (Tenisha) Hynes, and Toby (Dawn) Hynes; 14 grandchildren, Stacie, Nicholas, Matthew, Margo, Michael, Ashlee, Brittany, Paige, Camdyn, Kimberly, Trey, and Toby; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
