On 9 January 2021 an irreplaceable source of joy, sweetness, and love left our family. We mourn the painful loss of Josue Garcia with heavy hearts but find solace in knowing that his legacy of kindness, courage, and perseverance will live on.
Josue was born and raised in Mesa, AZ on June 17, 1983, the youngest of six children to Maria and Ignacio Garcia. He lived for 37 years facing severe physical limitations and ailments associated with cerebral palsy that took a toll on his body but did not break his spirit. His grit and enthusiasm for life helped him live much longer than what medical professionals had anticipated. What also undoubtedly helped him was having a heart free of anger, bitterness, or defeat; he did not allow his life’s challenges to hamper his joy. Josue always wore a beautiful smile that could light any room and that warmed many hearts. He loved music, engaging family and friends, and laughing, especially when witnessing others’ silly or clumsy antics.
Josue’s caring nature was remarkable. He could not speak, but his ability to sense distress in others and to quietly provide comfort with his kind, warm gaze will always be remembered.
Josue was a beautiful person, and he will be sorely missed. He provided us with precious life lessons, however, that will stay with us and be passed on to our progeny.
When Josue passed, he was greeted by his father. He will continue to live in the hearts of his devoted mother, five siblings, three nieces, three nephews, and all who knew him. There will be a private viewing for him on January 21, 2021.
We would like to thank our extended family and friends for keeping us in their thoughts and prayers.
