June Anne Powers of Mesa, Arizona passed away on March 16, 2017, at age 93.  She was born in Merchantville, New Jersey on September 5, 1923, to John Harold Dobbins and Anne Elizabeth (Hoyle) Dobbins.

At age 13, June and her younger brother John moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota with their parents.  June graduated from Washburn High School in 1941 and Macalester College in 1945 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Social Work. 

June Married John Powers in 1946.  John and June moved to Mesa in 1946.  John passed away in 1995.  June 

June is Survived by her son Stephen (Sally); two grandchildren, Colleen (Brian) Hendry and Craig (Mary) Powers; a niece, Lynda Dobbins Stone; four great grandchildren, Austin Calvin, and Audry Powers and Emma Hendry.

Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, LLC, is handling arrangements. A memorial service at the cemetery is scheduled for Saturday, April 1 at 10:00 am.

In lue of flower, the family requests donations to Red Mountain United Methodist Church Mission.

    John you don’t know me, but I knew your Mom very well. She and my Momma (Harriett Hoobler) worked at several functions for the Red Mountain Church. When my momma was on hospice here at the house, your Mom would come over every week to work on quilts for the church. They were with the sewing group together, women assoc.
    I am so sorry for loss. Your mom was truly a great person and heaven’s quilting group has gained another angel.
