June Minter Brisson Hubek was born on September 17, 1933, in St. Pauls, North Carolina. She was the daughter of J. Herman Brisson and June Minter Matheson. She married Richard M. Hubek in January 1960. She was preceded in death by both parents and her husband. She was survived by her stepsisters Hilda, Pat and Beth, her children, Jim (Jennifer) Hubek and Elaine (Greg) Swallow, her granddaughters, Lindsey, Ashley and Emily (Austin) and her great-grandson Dallas.

June grew up in Chicago where she met her husband, Dick. They moved together to Orlando, Florida where their two children were born. She earned an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and a master’s degree from Rollins College. She taught high school social studies for nine years then continued her career in school administration where she oversaw career development for students. Dick and June retired and moved to Blairsville, Georgia, then in 2004, they moved to Gilbert, Arizona. June was active at Center Church where she led a ladies’ Bible study and a prayer meeting for more than ten years. She loved Jesus and her family and served everyone she knew faithfully to the end.

June passed away on June 13, 2024 surrounded by her family who sang her into Heaven.
