Kenneth Herman Mosolf went to see his family and friends in heaven on February 21, 2020. Kenny was born to Mildred (Talley) and Herman Mosolf on March 18, 1941. He attended school at the Mugford School as well as Crookston, MN.He was raised on the Mosolf Farm near Bowesmont, ND where he raised horses, cattle, wheat and sugar beets. He was Marilyn’s (Simmons) high school sweetheart. They married in 1961 and had 2 children, Julie and Derek. Their early married years were spent in California where Ken worked on the VanDeberg Airforce base as a Maintenance Mechanic. When he returned to North Dakota he was instrumental in constructing the Nekoma missile sites by Langdon, ND. His working days were ended when he had an accident related stroke. One of joys was to have taught at the Grafton State School for over 10 years. He loved his horses and showing them with friends. Ken enjoyed so many people and things in his life. Whether showing horses, babysitting grandkids, having parties in AZ, spending time with family or talking Minnesota sports, he lightened up life around him.
He leaves to celebrate life: his wife of 58 years, Marilyn; his children Julie (David) Pederson and Derek (Renee) Mosolf as well as 5 grandsons; Nicholas (Macy), Matthew (Emily), Marshal, Tony and Noah. He is survived also by his sister, Marlene(Donald) Bates and Delores (Bob) Evenson. He also leaves brother-in-laws, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews and many many people he’s entertained with his humor and antics.
There will be a celebration of his life at Hossana Lutheran church in Mesa, AZ on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at 10:30 am followed by a celebration in North Dakota at later date.
So sorry to hear about Ken. He will always be remembered by me.
