Lawrence “Larry” Raymond Fleck Sr. passed away October 3, 2019 in Mesa, Arizona.  He was born on September 26, 1934 in St. Ignatius, Montana, to Ralph and Josepha Fleck.  In 1937, Larry and his family moved to Keenesburg, Colorado. At age 6, Larry started working by picking vegetables in the fields and worked at the oil refinery until he was able to purchase his first bar and restaurant at age 25. He participated in many activities during his childhood and teenage years including running track, basketball, baseball, pole vault, shotput, football, “A” club and Drip club.  Some of those same activities rolled over into his adult years as well as softball, snow skiing, waterskiing, running, racquetball and golf.  Larry was also a sponsor to many and a contributor to many charities. He was the owner of Larry’s Fine Foods and Lounge, The Crestline, The Merry-Go-Round, The Colony, The Red Lion, and Lincoln Mobile Homes. Larry also worked as a commercial R.E. agent for many years and worked until 2013, when he retired from a Country Club golf course.

Larry was a self-made man who was born in a tiny structure. He was the middle son of six to a very poor family.  He was handsome, athletic, incredibly charming, polite, witty and very much a gentleman.  People were drawn to him and his charismatic personality.  He was an accomplished business man and the hardest worker and was highly respected by his peers and employees.  He was a man with one hundred best friend and a thousand buddies.  He was a lover of his pets, which included his cat, Kitty and his dogs, Bear and Buffy.  Along with his pets, Larry was a lover of all animals, but his favorites included squirrels, deer and hummingbirds.

Larry was preceded in death by Rosemary Fleck, Al Fleck, Ralph Fleck Sr., Josepha Fleck, Ralph Fleck Jr. and David F. Fleck.  He is survived by his two brothers, Norbert and Raymond Fleck,  daughter, Lisa Fleck, sons, Lawrence Raymond Fleck Jr., Brian Merle Fleck and Lance Babcock, grandchildren, Chanel Mikel, Connor and Morgann Fleck, Aaron, Joshua, Bruce and David Fleck and nephews, Lee Allen Fleck and David Alan Fleck.
