Leona Victoria O’Toole Obituary
Leona Victoria O’Toole, 89, passed away on May 28, 2015 at Lotus Assisted Living in Gilbert, AZ. She was born to Oscar and Hannah Nelson on December 23, 1925 in Grand Rapids, MI. Leona attended Kellogsville High School in Grand Rapids, MI.
Leona married Robert H. O’Toole in 1944 in Grand Rapids, MI. They were happily married for 38 years before his untimely death in 1983. In 1955, the family moved from Michigan to Mesa Arizona and then, in 1959, to Tempe, Arizona.
Leona is survived by her sons Robert (Linda) O’Toole, Donald (Linda) O’Toole, Brian (Sandie) O’Toole and daughters Janice O’Toole and Ruth (Frank) Corson; her brother William Nelson and sister Eleanor Haynes of Grand Rapids, MI; five grandchildren ; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ at 3:00 on June 5, 2015. A visitation will be held at the funeral home chapel at 2:00 on June 5, 2015.

She was my dear sister but she was a friend to all who knew her. She will be sadly missed.
We sure will miss you Aunt Leona. We were so grateful and blessed to be able to visit with you the last three years, as we visit Arizonia on our RV adventures. She was such a joy!! To our cousins, Bob, Don, Ruth, Janice and Brian, know that our hearts are there with you along with our prayers and love, as you go through your lose.
I love you mom. you have been my mother and friend for all of my life. No one can ever replace that or know how much I miss you.
We are sorry for you loss. She was and is a great lady. May you find peace in the days ahead.
Looked up to her for so many years, was able to learn so much. She was a mom grandma and friend to so many. Don’t think she ever knew how much she meant to us all. Love you grams.
