Lorna Bertha Thormaehlen, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully in her family’s home on September 11, 2017. She was 96 years old.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Thormaehlen, and her sister, Elda Secula.
She is survived by her eldest daughter, Pam; her son, Jim; and her youngest daughter, Debi; along with seven grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Lorna was a treasured employee of JC Penny and Sears for over 30 years. She and Wally lived in many states throughout the country and finally settled to raise their family in Fountain Valley, California. When they retired in 1980, they moved to Mesa, Arizona where she spent the last 37 years.
She will be remembered and adored by all who knew her.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 18, 2017 at Hosanna Lutheran Church located at 9601 E. Brown Road in Mesa, Arizona. The service will begin at 1:00 pm, with a viewing beginning one hour prior.
Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery located at 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, Arizona .
