Luba Dari, 88, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on December 19, 2017. She was born in Swan River, Manitoba, Canada on November 18, 1929 to Jakob and Krystyna Shybunia (dec.).  She was beloved sister to Sirgey, Fred (dec.), Nina, and Nick. After meeting her husband, Robert, they married and moved to North Tonawanda, NY. They raised three children; Bruce, Robin (Andrew) Robinson, and Penny (Tim Zeilenga).

After the passing of her husband on June of 1981, Luba moved to Arizona. She fell in love with the beauty of the Arizona desert and loved to spend time outdoors.

Both in New York and Arizona, Luba enjoyed gardening and sharing the fruits of her labors with friends and family. Luba was a very generous person. She always opened her home to anyone in need of place to celebrate a holiday.

The biggest joy of her life was her family including three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was affectionately known as Gram and GG to her grandchildren; Jillian (Charlie) Morris, Krystina Robinson, and Robert (Jessica) Dari; and her great-grandchildren Julia, Anthony, Emily, Joshua, Elizabeth, James, and Catherine.

Luba loved to travel. She visited many places including the birthplace of her parents, Russia; Israel, Greece, Hawaii, and Italy. No matter where she went, she was always spreading love to those in need. She lived a life of service to others.

A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home on Saturday December 23, 2017 at 2:00 pm in Mesa, Arizona. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to send a donation in her name to Luba’s favorite charity, Sunshine Acres Children’s Home, a local charity that created loving Christian homes for children in need. http://sunshineacres.org/

Have been thinking of her family at this time. I know this is a difficult time but we know she has a new healthy body now.We. pray that God will be your comfort at this time . We
always enjoyed seeing her and Nina when they came to Alberta. Our deepest sympathy to the whole family.

  4. Penny says:

    Janet,
Thank you for your kind words.
    Penny and the family

  5. Mary King says:

Luba was one of my oldest & dearest friends. She was one special lady and a wonderful example and reflection of our Lord Jesus Christ. She had a beautiful heart and loved her family dearly.
Because of distance, Luba and I did not get to see each other very often, so our visits were limited. However, when we did connect, we just picked up where we left off. I will certainly miss her!
My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I know they miss her very much but be consoled in the fact that she is in heaven rejoicing with Jesus whom she loved so much and looking forward to meeting you again.
