Lucille May Utz, 89, died on May 2, 2016, in Mesa, AZ, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to John and Steffi Slominski on January 26, 1927, in Minto, North Dakota. She graduated from The Sisters of St. Joseph School of Nursing of North Dakota in 1948 and worked at the VA hospital where she met her husband of 67 years, James Utz. They moved to Phoenix in 1953, raising their 8 children in the St. Gregory’s Parish School. Lucille was employed as a Registered Nurse for 25 years at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix. After moving to Mesa, she became an active member of All Saints Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband, James, brother, Paul Slominski, eight children, Jeanne Potter (Ric), Joe, Tony (Patti), Dan (Wanda), Tim (Katy), Marianne Bradley (Kent), John, and Roger (Sharlene), 14 grandchildren, three great grandchildren. Funeral Mass: Friday, May 6th, 2016, 10:00 am, All Saints Catholic Church, 1534 N. Recker Rd, Mesa, Arizona. Reception: in the Church hall. Entombment will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa.
