Manuel (Manny) Frias, age 88, was taken to live forever with his Lord and Savior on January 29, 2023, after bravely battling a lengthy illness.
Manny was raised in Monterrey, Mexico in a large family of 13 brothers and sisters. As an oldest son, Manny and his father Isaias began moving the extended family first to Texas and later to Chicago, working construction and other jobs. Manny met the love of his life, Carol May Frias (nee Cain), at a Chicago dance club in 1954. Their first official date was to celebrate Valentine’s Day. They were married later that year and over 68 years raised 5 children, Diana (Tim), Jim (Sharon), Michael (Dawn), Kimberly (Brian) and John. Manny was a tireless and creative doer. His natural leadership talent resulted in a successful entrepreneurial career. He served God in Nazarene churches in many capacities with a special heart for missions.
Manny is survived by his wife Carol, 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
My heart goes out to my aunt and my cousins . I love spending time with him and his family I will cherish those moments with me forever .
We are all so sorry for your loss.
Uncle Manuel was such a wonderful person.
I remember his great cooking.
I will continue to pray for your family
to help aunt Carol through this difficult time.
I love you all . Take care.
My brother has left an empty space in my heart , but my mind is so very full of wonderful memories of many times that we spent together.
