Marilyn J Westrom passed away May 29, 2021 at age 89. She was born July 31, 1931, to Michael F and Eleanor B Damon in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Marilyn attended schools in Minneapolis and St. Louis Park, MN, and graduated from St. Louis Park High School in 1949. She attended the University of Minnesota in 1949 and 1950. Marilyn lived in Golden Valley, MN for 19 years and Savage, MN for 8 years. She was a charter member of Westwood Lutheran Church. She is also a past member of Sons of Norway, University of Minnesota Symphonic Chorus and American Business Women’s Association. In 1950 Marilyn married James L. Turner and had two sons, Terrence and Timothy Turner before divorcing in 1957. In 1960 She married Loren L. Westrom. Marilyn had a 30-year career with the US Government, retiring from the Small Business Administration in 1994. She became a winter resident of Mesa, AZ in 1997 and became a full-time resident in 2008 where she is a member of Love of Christ Lutheran Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bob Damon; and son, Tim Turner. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Loren; son, Terry Turner (Sheryl) in Bloomington; daughter-in-law, Kate Roberts (Matt Bjurstrom) in Minneapolis; grandsons, Chris Turner (Connie), Chad Turner, Kevin Turner and Nick Turner; great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Cassidy, Jayden, and Jace Turner; niece, Lisa Damon (Gregg Lauderdale) and nephew, Paul Damon (Liz).
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday July 24, 2021 at 2pm at Love of Christ Lutheran Church, 1525 N Power Rd., Mesa AZ 85205.
