It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael James Hartson on January 5, 2025, at the age of 49. Michael was a man of immense love, compassion, and wisdom, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Michael is survived by his beloved children, Dylan and Natalie, who were the light of his life and will carry his light and love with them for the rest of their lives; his father, Leroy; his sister, Michelle; brother to the Aranki sisters; and proud uncle and mentor to his nieces and nephews. He was also the lifelong partner and best friend of Karen Aranki, who stood by his side through every step of his journey.
Michael is now reunited in heaven with his cherished mother, Donna, whose love was a constant in his life.
As a spirit healing practitioner, Michael dedicated his life to helping others find clarity, peace, and healing through heartfelt and transformative conversations. He touched the lives of many with his wisdom and compassion.
Michael found solace and inspiration in nature, and with his dogs by his side, whether exploring the vast beauty of the desert or enjoying the tranquility of the lakes. His love of music brought energy and joy to his life—he could wrap himself in the heartfelt lyrics of country songs and effortlessly rap an Eazy-E track like a pro, showcasing his vibrant and playful spirit.
A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on February 22, 2025, at 5 p.m. at Karen’s home. An additional gathering will take place this summer in Michigan, where friends and family will honor his memory surrounded by the places and people he loved most.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the U.S. National Park System in Michael’s honor, reflecting his love for the natural world and its beauty.
Michael’s kind heart, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
