Nancy L. Schwartz (Musich), 78, of Mesa, passed away peacefully, in her home, on April 7, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s-Dementia. Nancy was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 30, 1938 to Michael and Stephanie Musich. The youngest of 4 daughters, Nancy grew up on the south side of Chicago, surrounded by the love of her family, who fostered her life-long devotion to her Catholic faith and her love of reading books and writing stories. After graduating from high school, she started a successful career as a legal secretary in a law firm in downtown Chicago.
It was at a Chicago Tall Club social event where Nancy met the love of her life, Walter Jim Schwartz. Two years later, on September 3, 1960, surrounded by their family and friends, Nancy and Jim were married at Holy Rosary Church. Nancy and Jim welcomed their beautiful daughters Christine and Karen soon afterwards. Nancy passionately took care of her family and created a loving and nurturing home for them through a lifetime of generous, and self-less acts of love. When her children were in high school, she returned to work to help support them through college. Nancy and Jim retired to Mesa, Arizona in 1989. During her 28 years in Arizona, she remained faithful and active in the Catholic Church. She continued to enjoy reading, writing, traveling, discovering new restaurants, and most of all, visiting with friends and nurturing her family. She especially loved traveling to Chicago and Florida to visit and vacation with family. Nancy will forever be remembered by her loving husband, Jim, and her beloved daughters Christine and Karen. She is also survived by her dear sister Marian Zeppi and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Monday, April 10, 2017, from 5:30-8:30pm at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa Arizona. She was a devout Catholic and her family celebrates the gift of her life on Earth with a funeral Mass on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 10am, at All Saints Catholic Church, 1534 N. Recker Road, Mesa. Nancy’s love and devotion to her family and kindness towards her friends, will live on in the lives of those she loved and those who loved her.
