Nellie Frances Wenzel (nee Green) of Mesa, passed away peacefully of natural causes on January 13, 2019 at the age of 94. Nellie was born December 23, 1924 to George Green and Nellie Mercedees Middleton in the middle of a snow storm at the family home in Dearborn, Missouri (Edgerton Junction).
Nellie is survived by her middle son Douglas, six grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, daughter Janet, sons Charles and Taegue, parents George Green and Nellie Middleton, siblings George, Jean, Norma and Harold Ray, and nephews Marion and Marvin.
Nellie settled in Arizona in 1950 with her husband to raise their children. After her children were in high school, she went to work at Motorola, until the department that employed her was closed. Nellie continued on to work as a Community Aide at North High School until her retirement.
Nellie was the family historian, keeping detailed records both in writing and in memory of years past. She never forgot a birthday or anniversary and always sent greeting card wishes no matter the holiday.
Per Nellie’s explicit request, her body will be cremated and no services will be held.
