Patricia Lee Edwards – May 16, 1936 – Born in Boonville, MO to Ernest B. and Addie Lee Smith. Pat attended Moberly Junior College and graduated from Kirksville State Teachers College (now Truman State University). She married James E. Edwards and to this union three children were born: Debbie Kay, Laurie Lynn and Edwin Bert. Pat’s professional life included teaching first grade in Keytesville and Moberly, Missouri working with Head Start in Kirksville, Head Start Region VII Training Office, 3 Feathers Native America Office and Certifying CDA Candidates.
Pat died Saturday night, September 28th at 8:15 p.m. She is survived by her family that she loved so much. Her husband, Jim (married 55 years), daughter Debbie and her children Hannah Lee and Benjamin Edwards Kiem., daughter Laurie and her husband Dan Wilburn and their children Meah Nicole and Hudson James, son Edwin and wife Julie and their children Ryan Daniel and Andrew James, one brother Dr. James B. Smith and his wife of Santa Fe New Mexico, one half-sister Ellie Tatum of Vallejo, CA, an aunt Louise Holloway of Brookfield, MO and several cousins.
Pat has felt so blessed because of her family, loyal friends and two medical teams who have helped her fight Leukemia.
She will be cremated and a private memorial service will be held by her family.
