Phyllis Lorrain Johnson was Born September 30, 1928, in Miami, Arizona. She was the daughter of William David Johnson and Nola Drucilla Layton. She passed away September 5, 2024 in Mesa, Arizona at age 95, 25 days before her 96th birthday.
She married Walter Holmes Smith on May 1, 1947 in Central Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband (Walter Smith), sons (Blake and Stephen) and a great-granddaughter (Kinlee). She was the mother of Blake, Stephen and Lorrain, grandmother of 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild with another great-great grandchild due in a few weeks. Phyllis loved her family with all her heart.
Phyllis was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was a dedicated and loving leader in the church for many organizations. She served people her whole life and had many friends. She considered her family as her most important success in life.
A Celebration of her life will be held on September 13th at 10:00, visitation from 9:15-9:45, at the Marbella Ward building located at 2265 S. Hawes Rd in Mesa, Arizona. Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery located at 7900 E. Main St, Mesa AZ, following services.
