Precilia F. Barraza was born in Big Springs, Texas in 1936. Precilia went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 18, 2016 in Mesa, Arizona. She was 80 years of age.
Known by family and friends as “Percy,” she was born into a family of 15 children – six brothers and eight sisters. She grew up and attended high
school in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and later received a certificate of completion for course study at the University of Arizona in Tucson. She moved to Tucson in 1966 and raised her children there until moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1992, before finally settling in Mesa, Arizona in 1998.
Percy loved life and worked most of her adult life providing home nursing care to the sick and elderly. She was an entrepreneur long before it became commonplace for women, always looking for ways to earn extra money to support her family; selling Avon products and home health solutions before eventually starting a thriving assisted living senior group home care facility in Tucson, Arizona.
Preceded in death by her parents, Maria and Hilario Barraza, brothers; Edward, Joe, David, Robert (Bob), and Larry, and sisters; Ocelia, Alifa, and Josie.
She leaves behind a brother, Oscar, sisters; Francis, Nora, Margie, Yolanda, and Maria (Cori). She also leaves behind three sons; Lionel Hilario Trujillo Jr., Tomas Lupe Gonzales (Janet and Jessica), and Edward Matthew Segura, and daughter: Belinda Segura Post, and son-in-law; William Post. She also enjoyed her grandchildren; Daniel Lindsey Gonzales, Noah Paul Gonzales, Allyson Clarissa Gonzales, Logan Duarte, Harrison Liam Post, Rilee Nicole Post, and Sebastian Segura – along with countless numbers of children and adults she adopted into her family-in-Christ – in the name of Jesus.
Funeral Services will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home, 7900 East Main Street in Mesa at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 22, 2016. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
