Richard George Kujawa, 79, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on January 30, 2020. He was born in Duluth, Minnesota on July 6, 1940 to Leo and Margaret Kujawa. He is preceded in death by both parents and his wife, Diana (April 2010), with 50 years of marriage. He has been a resident of Arizona for over 35 years.
Richard was raised in Duluth and married Diana Malzac in August1959. He had two children, Dede (Dee Blake Vaughn, wife of Carl Vaughn) and Ricky (Rick Kujawa). He worked for Clyde Iron Works for many years and moved away from Minnesota (and the COLD weather) in 1984.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, car restoration, card playing, reading, woodworking, and puzzles. He enjoyed traveling more than he expected in the past 7 years, even getting his passport in his 70’s, with adventures to many parks in the U.S., cruises, and fishing trips. Our family had a wonderful seven years traveling together.
He is survived by his two children (as above), Grandson Christopher Blake (Kimberly), and 3 great grandchildren – Stryder, Scotlyn, and Swayzie Blake. He is survived by his brother Robert and sister Carolyn Kirby (Earl). He also is survived by his special cousin and co-traveler, Lucy Horvatich. He had a group of special friends and neighbors from MN/AZ that shared all the holidays and winters playing cards. Thank you all for your prayers and support. He was a great guy, loved by many, and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held on February 22, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at Silveridge Resort Clubhouse at 8265 East Southern Avenue, Mesa, Arizona, 85209.
