Richard (Rick) Warren Evenson II passed away on March 30, 2019 in Queen Creek, Arizona due to complications of diabetes.  He was born in Watertown, SD to Dave and JoEllen Evenson on September 12, 1977. Rick lived in South Dakota with his family until the age of 5 when they moved to Gillette, WY. Rick attended Conestoga Elementary, Sage Valley Jr. High, and graduated from Campbell County High School in 1996. During high school Rick worked at the Best Western as a cook.

He moved to Casper, WY in 1997 then obtained an Associate degree from Casper College and also worked at the Parkway Plaza as a chef. Later, he worked in management at both Poorboys Restaurant and the Wonder Bar. In 2013, Rick moved to Arizona to be closer to his parents. He became a bartender at the Olive Garden in Queen Creek, AZ shortly after that and worked there until the time of his death. Rick will be remembered for his willingness to help others, love of sports and generous spirit. He especially enjoyed the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Cubs.

Rick was a loving son, brother, and friend who was always willing to help others and loved spending time with his family. He and his 4 brothers could visit forever about sports. Rick loved to cook and would visit at length with Mom and Dad about new recipes. Rick also loved spending time outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, and gardening. Rick will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Rick is survived by his parents, Dave and JoEllen Evenson of Gold Canyon, AZ, David & Sydney Evenson of Sitka, AK, Scott Evenson of Gold Canyon, AZ, Alex Evenson & Chantelle Fosen of Gillette, WY, Adam & Katie Evenson of Casper, WY, and was an uncle to Julianna & Brayden Evenson of Sitka, AK and Lawson Evenson of Casper, WY as well as his grandmother, Esther Zirbel of Watertown, SD and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard & Harriet Evenson and Dale Zirbel, all from South Dakota.

A visitation will be held for Rick on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7900 E. Main St. Mesa, AZ 85207.  Services are to follow on Friday, April 5, 2019 at St. George Catholic Church, 300 E 16th Ave, Apache Junction, AZ 85119, with a visitation starting at 12:30, Rosary at 1:30 and formal funeral service at 2:00.  Interment will immediately follow at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery.
