On Thursday, November 25, 2021, Thanksgiving Day, I lost my hero, My Dad…..
Ricky James Perry, my daddy, passed away after bravely battling an aggressive COVID19. He was 57 years old.
My dad was born on March 2, 1964, in Chicago, Illinois. He was raised as a young boy in California. He was the youngest of 7 children. His siblings were Bonnie, Joe, Chucky, Jackie, Bobby and Kim.
My dad always told me when he lost his father he never wanted to love again. Then he had me of course. But now I know this feeling. My dad is all I’ve ever had. It’s always been just me and him. I miss hearing his truck come home. I miss listening to him talk on the phone for hours. My dad had such an impact on everyone around him. It’s not even an exaggeration on how many lives he’s changed. I feel sad for them. I know everyone is going to miss that call every day from him. I have no one to call my cell phone every day, all day long, just to be annoying and ask what I was doing; even though he called 5 minutes before that and already knew. He did everything for me. I’ll never have anyone who loves me that much again. I’ve never met a dad who loves his kid as much as he loved me. He made me so proud. To me, there is no one better than him. No one else would move to a whole different state with nothing just to give me a better life. He was the hardest working man I’ve ever met in my life. The only person I know to be excited to get up at 2am to pour concrete and come home at 5pm just as happy. He had the biggest heart. My dad was amazing. My dad taught me everything about life. He was my best friend, and with him gone, I am lost. I’m still trying to find myself. I saw my dad at his worst while fighting for his life. I know he is in a better place with no pain. One day we will meet again, but for now, daddy, keep resting in peace.

Rest In Peace my friend !
In the 3 short years we have know Rick we recognized that he is one of the finest men we have known. He worked for us on several occasions and the quality of his workmanship was second to none. We got to know him personally when he visited our home. It was then that we recognized the deep bond between he and his daughter! Our sincere condolences to his family, co-workers, friends and especially his daughter, Bailey. We will miss you my friend.
The best brother ever, best daddy to Bailey, great son…. I love you and miss you
