Ronald Frederick Wooley, known to his loved ones as Ron, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2024, in Mesa, Arizona, at the age of 81. He was born on March 16, 1942, in East Cleveland, OH, to the late Ira “Tags” Wooley and Mildred Aileen (Clayman) Wooley. Ron was preceded in death by his sister, Iris J. Milford.

Ron was a hardworking and prideful man who dedicated many years to the Automotive Industry. He began his career in high school at a five and dime store, and after graduating from Wickliffe High School, he pursued his passion for autobody repair. Throughout his career, Ron held various roles, including Autobody Repairman and Collision Center Manager. During the final years of his career he worked a Physical Damage Adjustor for American Family Insurance. He retired in June of 2010, at the age of 68.

In addition to his successful career, Ron had a deep love for his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 62 years, Loretta Ann Wooley (Prioreschi), his loving children: Suzanne Kathleen Gallaway (Keith), Carol Jean Newman (Bob), Jeffrey Daniel Wooley (Kristie), and Alice Marie Moad (Del), as well as 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ron had a warm and endearing personality. He was known for his generosity, love for music, and his sense of humor. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf, spending time with his dogs, and cooking.

Ron was a member of St. George Roman Catholic Church, where he found solace and community. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 16th, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, AZ. The praying of the Rosary will take place at 9:30 am on January 17th at St. George’ Roman Catholic Church in Apache Junction, AZ, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Burial will immediately follow the mass at approximately 11:20 am at Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, AZ.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ron’s honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Hospice of the Valley.

The Wooley family would like to extend their gratitude to Mountain View Mortuary in Mesa, Arizona, for their assistance during this difficult time.

Ron will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
