Our beloved RoseMarie (Rosi) Valencia Bisselle 77, passed away December 17, 2020.

Rosi was born in Ray, AZ.  September 11, 1943 to Frank and Gertrude (Bartlett) Valencia.  She attended Ray Elementary School in Ray but went to Ray High School in Kearny, AZ.  Rosi played cymbals in the marching band and she played bassoon in the concert band.  Her senior high school class was the first class to graduate from the new Ray High School in Kearny, AZ in 1961.

Rosi graduated from Arizona State University in 1965 and moved back to Kearny to teach 1st grade until 1971.  She moved to Mesa, AZ and taught school there until 1975 when she married Joseph Bisselle and they moved to Kankakee, IL.  She taught 1st grade in Kankakee and made many, many beloved friends.  They moved back to Mesa in 1986 and she taught in the Kyrene School District.  She and her husband Joe opened a Hallmark store called RoseMarie’s Hallmark in Mesa.

Rosi retired from teaching in 2005 after 40 years. Teaching children was her passion.  Rosi was a “die hard” ASU fan, played the piano beautifully, sewed and embroidered immaculately, but more than anything she was a caregiver to her family.  She loved her family and friends dearly and would do anything for them.  She was a bright spirit and had an enormous heart.  Her light was a force to be reckoned with.   She was a magnificent person and will be greatly missed.

Rosi was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Gertrude Valencia, Brother-In-Law Amador Guzman and Nephew-In-Law Scott Sayre.  Rosi lives on in the hearts of her brother, Henry (Elizabeth) Valencia, and her sisters Gloria Ann Guzman and Alice V. Sanchez.  Nieces Francine, Meredith, and Teresa. Great Nieces Cailin, Brooklyn, and Aubrielle.  Nephews Brian, Michael, Phillip, and Benjamin.  Great Nephews Scott (Ai My) and Maximus.  Ex Sister and Brother-In-Law Joanna and Michael Eubanks.

Rest in Peace dear RoseMarie.  God took another angel home.

The viewing for RoseMarie will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home on December 27, 2020 from 3-5pm with a rosary at 4 p.m.   Funeral Services will be held at St. Anne’s Catholic Church December 28, 2020 at 10 AM with live streaming of the service available through You Tube or St. Anne’s website at www.stanneaz.org.  Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
