Sandra “Sandy” Lee Anderson, 74, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully at home on September 16, 2024. Born on July 4, 1950, in Greeley, Colorado, to Robert L. Fabian and Bonnie M. Fabian, Sandy lived a life filled with love and kindness.
Known to many simply as “Grandma Sandy,” she cherished spending time with her family, especially her beloved granddaughter Ashleigh and her husband Micheal. Sandy had a special place in her heart for her two cats, who brought her constant joy and companionship.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and her only child, Heather. While she will be dearly missed by those who knew her, there is comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her daughter once again, a reunion she often looked forward to.
Her memory will be carried on by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her gentle spirit.
Sandy will be missed by many. She never failed to brighten your day. Although she was in a wheelchair for a duration of time, she could always come up with something to do that usually would get us in trouble. She never lost her spirit for adventure.
I already miss her phone call.
To making blanket forts, shoving me in trunks to sneak into the drive in, taking me and Ashleigh to the movies on the weekends, and adopting me as another granddaughter, I have nothing but adoration and love for her. She kept a home away from home for me and any of Ashleigh’s friends that were invited to many a sleepover. She let me practice singing to her when I was in choir cats (lol), humored me and Ashleigh with our weird skits and activities, and let us be the strange girls we were. She was truly the best. I’ll always remember how she made me feel growing up and continued to as an adult. Always making me laugh, listening intently about what was going on in my life and even making fun of me which I still enjoyed. She had some valid insults hahaha. I love you Grandma Sandy, I cherish everything you provided for us kids and the love you gave unconditionally. I’ll be missing you and I can’t wait to smoke a cigarette and laugh together again someday.
I worked with Sandy at BHH and she was a very kind and funny person. She would offer her shoulder to people if they needed someone to talk to. A coworker and I helped her when she lost her daughter. She was never alone. It hurts my heart to know she is gone, but she’s at peace now. To her family and friends, my deepest sympathy. May her memory be a blessing.
When we met Grandma Sandy, my first thought was ” what a firecracker”
She was so full of life and quite colorful with her words. Sassy, silly and lovable.
Rest now Sandy, Micheal will take care of Ashleigh. She is in good hands.
Thank you for the laughs.
You will be missed.

My hart hurts knowing she has passed. But I’m happy knowing she gets to see Heather and her mom and dad again.Sandy was like my second mom me . Heather and I were best friends all through Junior High School and High School so Sandy put up with a lot of stuff from the two of us.No matter what happened we could always go to Sandy. I want to thank her for the wonderful memories that I had with her my first concert at Red Rocks her taking me to the Renaissance Festival and all the sleep overs that Heather and I would stay up all night laughing and giggling and she would say it’s time for bed girls… I will miss you Sandy. Thank you for all the wonderful memories .
I’m going to miss Sandy’s laugh and her amazing ability to tell stories. I loved surprising her with homemade dressing. She was an amazing woman. Praying for the family! Love you.
Sandy was a wonderful friend and coworker. I’m going to miss her stories and laughter. She was a fabulous woman, mom, and grandma. I will miss her dearly! God bless her family and friends 🙏
I had the privilege of having Sandy not only as a client but also as a good friend. There were a few times that I took her to an appointment or Home Depot. Wherever we went she would treat people as if she had known them her entire life. She was such a kick. I will miss her laugh, her stories, and sharing our favorite fresh squeeze orange juice and hummingbird watching addiction. I know she is dancing with Heather and her hands and feet are finally warm. Hugs to Ashleigh and Michael…you took such good care of her and she loved you so very much.
