Signe Storstad Stenshoel Brandvold, 96, of Mesa, Arizona passed away on January 10, 2018.
The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 1:30 pm at Brookdale Springs, 6220 East Broadway Road, Mesa, AZ 85206. Pastor Myron Nysether will officiate. Funeral arrangements are being held at Mountain View Funeral Home of Mesa.
Signe was born to Alfred and Stella Storstad in Horace, ND on January 24, 1921. She graduated from Moorhead High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree from Concordia College, also in Moorhead.
Signe was married to Norton Stenshoel from May 31, 1945 until his death in 2001. After Norton passed away she was contacted by former Concordia classmate Arthur (Art) Brandvold. They married in December 2003 and spent the next eight years together.
Signe worked at Concordia College for many years and later at North Dakota State University. She fully embraced the NDSU Bison Football Team and remained an ardent fan the rest of her life, watching and cheering from her home in Arizona. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She and Art were active members of the Mesa chapter of the Sons of Norway.
Signe is survived by daughters Shirley Stenchoel of Mesa, Roberta Azar of Inver Grove Heights, MN, Ardis Miller (Roger) of Chandler, AZ, Daughter-in-law Judy Stenshoel, Fargo, ND; grandchildren Scott Stenshoel (Stephanie), Fargo, Jethe Becerra (Mario), Gilbert, AZ, Jeffrey Miller (Jan), Gilbert, Tanya Ferber (Jeff), Billings, MT, Christopher Azar, Inver Grove Heights; seven great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Eunice Stenshoel, Minnetonka, MN, and Nadine Carlson, Fargo, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by brother Gerhard and son Neil.

Higley Road, Suite 121, Mesa, AZ 85206. Signe’s family is grateful for the service and caring support that Hospice at Home of Arizona provided in her final weeks.
