On Friday, June 7, 2019, Taylor H. Henry passed away in the presence of his wife, Carol, and surrounded by friends at his home in Mesa, AZ after succumbing to his recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
Taylor was born March 9, 1939 to the late Dorothy and Herbert Henry. He had one sister, Pam Chapman, who preceded him in death, but is survived by her children Jennifer Schindler, Stacy Dusing and David Chapman.
A graduate of Lafayette College with a degree in engineering, he later earned an MBA from the University of Dayton. He worked in the automotive industry and was a pioneer in developing airbags, helping to ensure the safety of others.
In 1967 Taylor married Carlotta Ashburn and they had a many wonderful years together until Carlotta’s passing in 2004. They were blessed with one child, Kristen (Michael) MacKenzie, and one grandchild, David MacKenzie.
In 2008, Taylor married Carol and they had nearly eleven wonderful years together. Through this marriage he gained a stepson, Steve Smith, and a stepdaughter, Lori Meeks, three grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
Taylor was a man of faith who believed God’s compassion should be mirrored in his actions toward others. He was heavily involved in his church and community and strove to make the world a better place.
With his wife Carol he traveled extensively, enjoying the companionship of both friends and family along the way. Taylor will be greatly missed as a loving husband, respected father, kind grandfather, and a faithful servant to both his community and his God.
Memorial services will be held at Camelback Church of Christ, , Phoenix on Saturday, June 15, at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to New Mexico Christian Children’s Home 1356 NM-236, Portales, NM 88130.
