Gilbert, AZ resident Ted Gatz passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 29, 2023.
Ted was born on March 15, 1934 in Chicago, IL to Polish immigrant parents George and Agatha Gatz from Warsaw, Poland.
He was the youngest of 9 children and was the remaining sibling of Marie (Ed) Sexton, Joseph (Jean) Gatz, Bernice (Rudy) Marzalek, Josephine (Rob) Robinson, AnnaMae (Roy) Mikota, Helen (Stanley) Podgorski, Dolores (Ed) Jurek and Frankie Gatz.
Ted had six children from his first marriage-Virginia Ory, Dianne (Chuck) Noel, Sandra (Tommy) Smith, Geoffrey (Connie) Gatz, Victoria (Bill) Lowe and Christopher (Now deceased), (Wendy) Gatz.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary Louise Gatz and she had 5 children at the time of their marriage. Walter (Susan) Schweiger, Kenneth (Now Deceased), (Debbie) Schweiger, Ronald (Dianne) Schweiger, Karen (Dave) Lunsford, and Laura (Wil) Vigil.
He loved his family and had a great sense of humor.
Ted was an active member in the Elks Lodge for 50 years. He spent a life long career in the Sales and Hospitality Field. He enjoyed traveling and having family gatherings. His hobbies were golfing, fishing, and camping.
He is survived by 25 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, Feb. 3rd at Mountain View Funeral Home at 2 pm in Mesa, AZ.

Uncle Ted was a kind and loving man with a quick wit and a welcoming smile. We have many fond memories of his life with our family.. He will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.
