Thomas Franklin Mullins of Mesa AZ went home to be with the Lord on March 3rd, 2021 due to complications from back surgery at the age of 87.
Tom was born April 23rd, 1933 to Bill and Elsie Mullins, he was the 5th of 6 children growing up in Crane, Missouri. He joined the United States Army at the age of 20 and honorably served from 1953 to 1955. He married Rosa Lee Morris on April 23rd, 1955 and moved to Wichita, KS where they started their family of two beautiful boys, Dirk and Jeff. He had various jobs throughout his life which allowed them to live in several different cities: Albuquerque, NM; Salt Lake City, UT; Renton, WA and finally Mesa, AZ. He started working at the United States Postal Service in 1977 and after 18 years of consistent efforts to improve himself, he retired in 1995 as a Boiler Elevator Inspector.
Tom is preceded in death by his brothers, sisters and his eldest son, Dirk.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Rosa Mullins; his son Jeffrey (Colleen) Mullins; grandchildren Brittany Mullins, AJ (Sarah Salvo) Mullins, Amber (David) Adcock, Shane Mullins; great grandchildren Devyn, Samuel, Eliana Adcock and many nieces and nephews.
Tom accepted Christ into his life in 1957 at the Freewill Church in Wichita, KS. He spent much of his spare time studying the Bible and became a man of deep faith and made a commitment to a Christian life. He served the lord as a teacher and deacon at multiple churches. Most recently, Tom proudly served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher at East Valley Freewill Baptist Church.
The family of Tom wishes to extend a sincere thanks to the Jubilee Care Assisted Living aides who took such good care of Tom these last few months. A special thank you to Gloria who provided Tom a bit of joy and laughter during his final weeks.
Viewing will be held on Monday March 16, 10:00am-11:00am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00. both held at the East Valley Free Will Baptist Church, 2160 N Power Rd Mesa AZ.
