We are so saddened to hear of the passing of Willy. He was a good friend and helped me when I first arrived in St. Louis to work the flight line for TWA. I remember his sense of humor, hardly ever upset at anyone or anything. My wife Fran, remembers him as a sweet man and like a big teddy bear at all our midnight shift crew family parties. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jan and the Family, May the Lord give you peace during your time to grieve.

    Fran and Gary Tanner

Wow seems like yesterday we worked together on midnight shift in St.Louis and boated the river with tommy and Willy. Then you see willy’s retired from TWA and you remember how time has passed. Willy was so great to work with as I was a new mechanic and took me under his wing keeping me mostly out of trouble as a new guy and made me feel at home and confident. What a great man. Every night I worked with him he would be the first to jump up anxious to start and say ” come on slick, let’s go, I’ll get the tires and brakes, you get the outside” . God speed to Willy on his heavenly journey. What a guy!

  3. Len and Sonje Lemke says:

Along with the rest of his TWA family, we mourn the loss of Willy. We didn’t see much of him after retirement, but have many fond memories of him, working with him, TWA parties etc.
    Rest in peace, my friend.

  4. jerry cole says:

Willy was one of the first guys I worked with when I came to STL. Willy was always there to help me and the other guys on the crew, you couldn’t ask for a nicer guy than Willy. The world needs more folks like Willy.

  5. Jerry McCormack says:

Willy was a good friend for many years. The TWA years and most recently the Wendesday Morning coffe. You will be missed old friend.
