Pauline Mary Crook was born in London, England to Thomas and Pauline Gwilliam in 1931. It was in London where she met the love of her life, her husband of 67 years, Victor. They were married in London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral in 1952 and traveled back and forth “across the pond” as Victor served in the US Air Force. When Victor retired from the Air Force in 1969, the Crook family settled in Arizona in the Camelback East neighborhood where they raised their three children. Pauline’s priority was always family. She loved all her relatives, near and far, and treasured her meetings with them. She kept many photo books and scrapbooks with clippings of all major events in her children’s lives and loved doting on them. Pauline attended church regularly as a devout Episcopalian. She was active in women’s groups, including DBE (Daughters of the British Empire) where she forged many lifelong friendships. Pauline played bridge regularly and loved swimming early mornings in her retirement community. As a voracious reader, Pauline could be found reading and volunteering at the Leisure World library. She and Victor summered in Show Low, spending time on their porch hosting friends, visitors and greeting neighbors. Pauline passed away peacefully on May 18, 2023 in Mesa, Arizona. Victor pre-deceased Pauline (2015). Pauline is survived by her three children: Barbara Trible (Don), Steve Crook (Karen) and Marianne Jorgensen (Kevin). She is also survived by her two grandchildren: Heather Stevens (Torrey) and Haydon Crook, and her three great-grandchildren: Natalie, Zach and Jake. She will be deeply missed by her treasured family and friends. Pauline’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 27th at 1pm at Mountain View Memorial Gardens in Mesa. In lieu of flowers the family kindly suggests a donation to the Leisure World Library (908 S. Power Rd, Mesa, AZ 85206, Attn: Lee Ann Petit, Treasurer).
