Edward Floyd Sarafin

June 30, 1946 – July 8, 2022


Edward Floyd Sarafin Sr., age 76, of Chicago, Illinois and Gilbert, Arizona, passed away on July 8, 2022 surrounded by family and loved ones in Chandler, Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Sarafin, his brother, Larry Sarafin, two sons, Edward “Chip” Sarafin Jr. and George Edward Sarafin II, and his grandson, Luke Eric Sarafin. Ed was born in Chicago on June 30, 1946 to Helen and George Sarafin. After attending Thomas Kelly High School in Brighton Park, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1963 at the start of the Vietnam War and served honorably for 6 years. Upon returning home, Ed attended DePaul University and then followed in his father’s footsteps by becoming a Chicago police officer. Ed loved spending time with his family, traveling and watching Diamondbacks baseball. Memorial services for Ed will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home in Mesa, Arizona on Monday, July 18, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A funeral mass will then be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Mesa on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. followed by entombment at Mountain View.
