Earnest (Ernie) Larry Bohnet of Mea, AZ formerly of Parker, Colorado passed away at Brookdale Assisted Living facility on June 25, 2026, he was born on July 30, 1945, to Edward Frank and Margurite June Bohnet on July 30, 1945, in Vancouver, BC Canada. Ernie graduated from Edson High School in Saskatchewan and Graduated from University of Saskatchewan with a degree in mining engineering. His career in gold and copper mining took him on travels nationally as well as internationally. Working for Cyprus minerals, freepost and Pincock-Allen Holdt. In 2009 Ernie started his own consulting company, Bohnet Global Mining LLC.
In 2016 Ernie met Karen Johnson and they married in Parker Colorado on October 21, 2017. In January Ernie and Karen bought a motor home and enjoyed many wonderful adventures traveling in the USA. in 2018 they became “snowbirds” spending fall and winter months at Apache Wells Resa in Mesa. In 2022 they purchased a home in Florence, AZ after selling the house in Florence, AZ after selling the house in Parker and moved to AZ in the fall.
While in AZ at Apache wells, Ernie Played several card games and pool. He and Karen purchased an ATV and joined the Florence ATV Groups on trips into the desert and canyons for day trips.
Ernie’s hobbies he enjoyed were Legos, model trains, woodworking, camping in the motor home, reading and watching sports and movies.
Earnie was a kind and gentle man, and he was very generous with his time, Talents and finances willing to help others. Earnie was preceded in death by his brother Grant and Brian Bohnet sister I Law Karen and Sandy Bohnet of San tan Valley AZ His sister in law Jeannie Bares and his late wife Lily Bohnet. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews
Ernie did not want a memorial service, so his family is honoring his wishes. Memorials may be sent to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, Arizona Chapter
