Forever In the Hearts They Leave Behind

Ammon Michael Ringen

July 6, 2016 – October 9, 2023

Ammon Michael Ringen was born on July 6, 2016 in Minot, North Dakota and passed away on October 9, 2023 in the hospital in Mesa, Arizona.
Ammon is survived by his parents Beth and Alan and his three brothers Jasper, Jaxon, and Alex who live in Mesa, Arizona. And his grandparents Ed and Audrey Ringen and Phil and Alma Christiansen along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ammon was a bundle of energy and infectious laughter. He loved to help others with his hands, whether it was building things with dad, or baking with mom. He had an insatiable love for play, all things party (especially dressing up), and his days were filled with the pure, unbridled excitement of childhood adventures.

He had a heart that overflowed with affection, especially for his beloved brothers, who he looked up to and looked out for. Their love for each other is endless; they would often end up in sleep piles, snuggling with each other and their stuffties each night before bedtime as this was one of his favorite things to do with his brothers.

His love extended to animals, especially baby animals. He was known to be a friend to all creatures, great and small, and his tender heart was an inspiration to all who witnessed his compassion.

Swimming was another of his passions, and the water was where he felt most at home. His fearless dives and joyous splashes were a testament to his adventurous spirit. The pool, the lake, the ocean or even a bath were his playgrounds, and he embraced each aquatic adventure with zeal.

Ammon had a profound connection to music. He was often found dancing to his favorite tunes or singing with unbridled enthusiasm. His love for music was a source of delight for all who knew him, and his favorite songs will continue to remind us of him whenever they play.

Ammon loved to travel and had been many places. He loved to visit family, anywhere they were but especially his grandparents both in Idaho and North Dakota. In the summer of 2022 they visited Puerto Rico and Ammon had the best time getting to swim as much as he wanted, jump off waterfalls, and take surf lessons. Surfing takes a lot of practice and Ammon persevered through the falling down portion of learning; he never quit.

After his return he suffered a debilitating accident with a traumatic brain injury rendering him quadriplegic and he lost the ability to control most of his body, including movement and speech. The rest of him was unchanged; he demonstrated his can-do attitude and the determination to never quit by continuing to work in therapy and rehabilitation to gain back his abilities and always progress. He re-learned speaking and signing his favorite phrase, “I love you” after a year of rehab and therapy. After his accident, Ammon never had a single day with a bad attitude, even on days that were difficult, painful, or dark. With half a smile and a quick eyebrow raise, Ammon could let you know you were loved, appreciated, and a dozen other things.

Above all, Ammon was dearly loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His kind heart, infectious laughter, wry smile, and boundless curiosity drew people close and created a community of friends and family who cherished him deeply.
Although Ammon’s time with us was far too short, his legacy of love, playfulness, compassion, and a deep appreciation for the joys of life will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share in his light.

May Ammon rest in eternal peace, and may his spirit continue to play, love kittens, embrace the waters, and make beautiful music in the hearts of those who loved him. Consider making one of his quotes your family motto, “Just love each other and trust Jesus.”

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations via Venmo @Beth-Ringen to be used as the family deems necessary throughout this process.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 17, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints church building located at 11121 E Ray Rd, Mesa, AZ 85212.
The service will begin at 10 AM. Please come help us celebrate Ammon and his remarkable life.
