Andrew Bustamante, 69, passed away, on June 6, 2021. He was born May 17th, 1952 in Miami, AZ, where he was also raised. Andy achieved a Masters of Education from Ottawa University.

He served three years in the United States Marine Corps, and twenty years in the Army where he held many prestigious positions before retiring in 1992. Andy took immense pride in his work and everything that he did. After retiring from the Army he then went on to fulfil a second career in education in the Phoenix Union High School District and then with the Gila River Indian Community where he taught all ages. Andy touched and influenced many young lives over his years as a teacher. When Andy wasn’t mentoring young adults, he loved to ride his bike and travel the world and was always on the go with his wife of 24 years Bonnie.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Natividad and Manuella Bustamante and his daughter Andrea P Bustamante.

He is survived by his wife Bonnie Bustamante, his sister Martha Bustamante, his brother Rick Bustamante, four step-children and twelve grandchildren.

Andy could meet a stranger and make them his friend in minutes. To know Andy was to Love him. His sweet, upbeat and friendly spirit will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

    I spoke with Andy often on the phone with different mortgage dealings. He was always such a polite and pleasant guy. I will miss our conversations immensely and I wish for the absolute best for his family. You will be missed Andy!
