Anita (Pavichevich) Grankowski, 89, of Fountain Hills, Arizona, peacefully passed away on November 22, 2025.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, on December 13, 1935, Anita graduated from Bowen High School and attended the University of Illinois in Urbana–Champaign to study accounting before returning home to help her parents run the family grocery store.
She married David Grankowski on June 15, 1968, and together they shared 57 years of a deeply loving and devoted marriage. Anita treasured every moment with David, traveling the world by his side, enjoying golf, bowling, and bocce ball together, and always taking joy in entertaining family and friends in their home.
Anita was deeply rooted in her faith and community. She sang with the Sloboda choir at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church in Chicago and traveled nationwide sharing her love of music. After moving to Arizona, she became an active member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church and embraced the beauty, warmth, and lifestyle of the Southwest.
She had a long and successful career in Human Resources, working at Republic Steel Corporation and later at Peat, Marwick & Mitchell, retiring in 1997.
Anita cherished her large family and the joy, love, and laughter her many nieces and nephews brought into her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Filip and Milusa (Nikcevich) Pavichevich, and her siblings: Radomir (Fanny), Mileva (Rade), Lena (Damijan), Blagutin (Zora), Branko, Nick, Bosilka (Jimmy), and Milosava (Richard).

Known for her warmth, generosity, and welcoming spirit, Anita brought joy to everyone around her. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit and the love she gave so freely will remain in our hearts always.
