Mesa, Az – Aroma J. Overland 78, gained her wings and danced into heaven with Jesus on December 22, 2020 at Mi Casa Nursing Ctr in Mesa, Arizona.

Aroma was born December 16, 1942 in Manitou, Oklahoma to O.O. and Minnie T. Skidmore and have an abundance of brothers and sisters. She had 14 brothers and sisters. Her entire family loved her, and they were incredibly happy for another sister.  She definitely loved her baby sister Dora; they were inseparable when they were younger. Her sister Margie was her best friend they sure like to play together.

She was a chef and mixologist she loved cooking and she could cook up some scrumptious meals, after all she had five children to cook for. She was blessed to have loving children that loved her unconditionally. She could be a pill, so stubborn headed.

She was a very free-spirited soul and moved around the country frequently. She was a strong-willed woman, and she had a servant’s heart all her life always doing for others and she would give her shirt off her back for anyone.  She loved to dance, sing, and her jewelry, she loved her diamonds. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, sewing and enjoyed people. She managed several restaurants and clubs in her lifetime. She was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, and Elks Club in Cortez, Colorado.

She suffered a stroke in 1999 and this began her path to many aliments she would come across, but she was determined even after her stroke to still do what she wanted and somehow always found a way.

Aroma married John (Chuck) Overland whom she loved.

She is survived by her daughter Teresia Weaver and husband Terry of Amarillo, Texas, daughter Alisa Hunt-Pike and husband David of Mesa, Arizona, and son Dean Ramsey and wife Carrie of Gilbert, Arizona.
