Barbara Louise Gardner-Mann (Nee Bussman), born July 9th, 1948, passed away peacefully on March 2nd, 2026. She survived by her husband Philip Mann and her three children Marcy, Geoff, and Stephanie. Her 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, other extended family remember her fondly as we celebrate her legacy.

Barbara was an accomplished woman with a career as an Engineer, before obtaining her master’s degree in education technology and turning her talents to become a teacher, librarian, and homemaker.

Barbara poured her energy into her family and neighborhood as a Cub Scout leader, Little League scorekeeper, and ever-reliable “mom’s taxi,” ferrying children to activities with endless patience and cheer. Known for her kindness, generosity, and delightful quirkiness, she had a beautiful voice and a spontaneous love of song—she would break into melody at any moment, filling rooms with joy and music.

Deeply faithful, she served her community at St. Vincent de Paul church as Religious Education director, lector, and Eucharistic minister, sharing her warmth and guidance with countless others.

Services will be held April 14, 2026, at CCV Maricopa Campus in Maricopa, AZ at 2:00pm. Followed by a short graveside service at Mountain View Cemetery in Mesa, AZ.

As we look back on our memories with her fondly, please consider a donation to your local library in her name in place of flowers.

Barbara was a great friend. I remember in school how we played the mandolin and guitar together. Both her and one other friend, were the only 2 friends I had for the 12 years in school. Both are gone now.
I also have very fond memories of our cruise to Alaska for 2 weeks. We did a lot together. She will truly be missed.
    Friend, Patty Bailey

  2. Joe Bussman says:

As a youth, I always enjoyed seeing Barbara. She was always happy to see you and was always having a good time. Her smile would brighten the room and made me feel special.
