Berlin Alfred Blair, age 92, born October 28, 1928 in Blacky, Virginia to Goldie Spurlock Blair and Ale Blair. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.

He leaves behind three daughters: Twinkle Jean Whitehead (Shorty Whitehead), Nadine Blankenship (Dean Blankenship), Lois Ann Blankenship (Kennith Blankenship) and two sons: Earl Junior Blair (Sharon Blair) and Max Lewis Blair (Tara Blair). He had one fur baby named Katie whom he adored. God has blessed him with 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and a plethora of nieces and nephews that he loved.

Berlin was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Ida Davis Blair, and an infant daughter, Angel Marie Blair. He was also the last surviving member of his very large family.

He regularly attended Desert Hills Baptist Church in Mesa, Arizona, where he had many brothers and sisters in Christ. He spent many years employed as a logger, coal miner, mill worker and spent time in car manufacturing. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. Having survived the Great Depression he was determined to support his family, so he moved his family from Virginia to Maryland, to Delaware, to Washington, and he retired to Arizona.

His hobbies included: travelling to all 50 United States and many foreign countries, along with fishing and hunting.

He never saw a stranger and he was a great conversationalist. He had an infectious smile that would light up a room. He loved everyone and was loved by all.

Please join the family on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 1:00 pm for a visitation at Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery. Services will begin at 2:00 pm.
