Betty Jane Beaber Rule, 93, died on Monday, June 9, 2014 at Hospice of the Valley in Mesa, AZ. She was born and raised in Lexington, OH, the only child of Bert and Balinda (Volz) Beaber. On August 29, 1941, she married her high school sweetheart, Richard Rule, and in 1946, they moved to Arizona. For many years, they lived in Chandler, AZ where they raised their family and Betty worked at the dental clinic at Williams Air Force Base. After retirement, she and Dick traveled extensively and made many new friends with their full-time RV lifestyle. She was proud of the fact that they had visited 92 countries worldwide. For 13 years they enjoyed their residence in Viewpoint RV and Golf Resort and their dear friends on Third Street. More recently she was a member of the community at Fellowship Square Christian Care in Mesa. Betty was a very active and creative lady, always willing to lead and make the world around her a better, happier place. During her illness, she continued giving by crocheting baby hats for the newborns at Banner Hospital in Mesa. Betty will be dearly missed by her three children Carol (David) Christian, Diane Werth (Allan Manalan) and Gordon (Sue) Rule, 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Richard and her parents Bert and Balinda Beaber. The family would like to thank Dr. Juanita Sapp and the staff at Hospice facility for their loving care of Betty during her final weeks. In keeping with Betty’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A Celebration of Life for Betty will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the United Food Bank, 245 S.
