Betty Lou Huff of Tempe, Arizona, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2026. She was known for her big heart, quick wit, and boundless generosity, leaving a mark on everyone lucky enough to know her in the communities she called home—from Oxford, Nebraska, to Minnesota’s Brainerd Lakes, and finally the Phoenix area.
Betty was a master of selflessness, hospitality, and unforgettable quirks—her playful nicknames, love for dogs, and legendary cooking live on in the hearts (and stomachs) of her family. From her famous tacos to blueberry pancakes and comforting soups, she had a way of making everyone feel at home.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Becky Huff and husband Rich Garcia; her brother Earl Hrabik; her son-in-law Scott Brooking; and daughter-in-law Judi Huff. Her grandchildren—Kate (Drew) Derrico, Nick Huff, and Mitch (Danielle) Huff—and her five great-grandchildren, Emery, Perry, Camden, Porter, and Aria, brought her endless joy.
Betty now joins her husband Dan (Howard) Huff, her parents Earl and Lorreta Hrabik, and her children Eric Huff and Kelly Brooking in eternal rest. Her laughter, love, and unforgettable spirit will live on in every story, every recipe, and every memory shared.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Betty’s memory to the Dementia Society of America.

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. We had some fabulous memories with your parents at their Gold Canyon home and enjoyed several of your mom’s recipes. Chalupa was always my favorite.
