Beulah Elizabeth Shippee

April 22, 1926 – May 29, 2023


Beulah Elizabeth Shippee, 97, of Gilbert, AZ, died at home on May 29, 2023. She was born to Harry and Bessie (Frank) Trimble on April 22, 1926 in Sterling, IL, one of 11 children. Beulah was a follower of Jesus Christ and enjoyed reading and studying her Bible regularly. She married Royal E. Shippee on September 22, 1948 at The Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, IA. As a young woman, Beulah worked in the office of Woodmanse Manufacturing in Freeport, IL. In 1963, she and Royal moved their lives and their newborn son to Arizona to escape the snow. Beulah was a very loving mother and homemaker. She also worked as a paraprofessional for Chandler Unified School District, where her caring, patient manner was a great asset. Her favorite role in life, though, was Grandma to her precious granddaughters. Beulah was a wonderful cook and enjoyed taking care of others. She loved reading and collecting recipes, playing word games and doing jigsaw puzzles. She is survived by her son, Steven (Barb) Shippee of Gilbert, a daughter, Barbara Shippee, of Chandler, two granddaughters, Fara (David) Buchanan, of Queen Creek, and Emily Shippee of Cody, WY, two sisters, Marge (Richard) Rose of Winnebago, IL and Elaine (Dean) Beazly of Mansfield, IL, one brother, John (MaryAnn) Trimble, of Dakota, IL, one sister-in-law, Carol (Roger) Trimble, of Brookfield, WI, and many loving nieces and nephews. Beulah was preceded in death by her husband Royal E. Shippee, her parents, Harry and Bessie (Frank) Trimble, four sisters, Marian (James) Lapp, Bernice (Clair) Bassler, Ruth (Chris) Byl, Geraldine (Walter) Whitney, three brothers, James, Marvin, and Roger Trimble, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 4-7 PM on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Mountain View Funeral Home in Mesa, AZ. Family Services will be held on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Hospice of the Valley.
