Bill (Buzzy) Thompson, age 64, of Mesa, AZ passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, March 29, 2020. Bill was an Arizona native and was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Doris (Butterworth) Thompson, and sister Josie. Bill served honorably in the US Navy and retired from the Arizona Department of Corrections after 20 years of service.
Bill loved his family and his pets, 2 cats, Stretch and Angus, and his dog, Muttley. He loved sports, especially the Phoenix Suns and the Arizona Cardinals. He looked forward to every televised game which he faithfully watched with his brother Kenny. Bill loved playing video games, especially World of Warcraft which he played with his wonderful friend and neighbor, Ian.
Bill loved reading the Bible and debating Christian dogma with whoever was willing to listen and take up the challenge. We will all miss him and those lively discussions.
Bill is survived by his two brothers, Kenny Thompson of Phoenix, AZ, Jerry Thompson of Mesa, AZ, three sisters, Donna Morrissey of Merrimac, MA, Florence Varela of Phoenix, AZ, and Angela Antilla, of Globe, AZ, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Rest in peace Buzzy, we will miss you.
