Burl Wayne Strome’s Story
1953-2025
Burl Wayne Strome passed away on October 9, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona, at the age of 72.
Born on June 9, 1953, in Eufala, Oklahoma, Burl was the son of Bessie and Hearm Strome. He grew up alongside his siblings Anna “Sue” Hughlett, Howard Strome, Albert Strome, Brenda Strome, Betty Richards, and Adell Singleton. His parents, brothers Howard and Albert, and sisters Brenda and Adell all preceded him in death.
Burl was a hard worker and was proud of his abilities as a painter. He was always willing to help others.
Burl’s life was marked by enduring connections with those around him. He enjoyed visiting with others and was quite the vivid storyteller. He loved to watch old Western movies and listen to music — Creedence Clearwater Revival was one of his favorite bands. He preferred the outdoors and was drawn to the wild horses on the Salt River. He is remembered fondly by his sisters Sue and Betty.
Though he has departed this life, Burl leaves behind memories that will be cherished by those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to all who mourn his passing.
A Graveside Service will be held on October 17, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Mountain View Cemetery 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, Arizona.
